The second half of 2011 is the time of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union. On account of the Polish Presidency, the Association European Centre of Meeting Between East and West as well as schools from Poznan City and Wielkopolska Region would like to invite students from all over Europe to our city to build together the sense of being the citizens of united Europe.
We warmly invite students and teachers from your school to take part in the events as part of school exchange programmes. The ‘3rd European Youth Meeting’ will be held from 18th to the 24th September 2011.
Each participant of the meeting is invited to take part in one of the workshops, e.g. European dance, theatre, art, journalism, music or gastronomic workshop. Besides, there will also be a possibility to participate in volleyball, football, basketball, table tennis tournaments and other sport or recreation events.
As part of ‘3rd EYM’ we are also planning to organize a panel discussion ‘United Europe in 3rd Millennium’ and a discussion about dangers connected with climate warming with participants of 14th Climate Conference, scientists and authorities representatives.
We would also like to organize a poster contest ‘Our Europe’ and a photographic competition ‘Poznan in the picture’. You will also have the opportunity to edit a multilingual newspaper. A presentation of students’ theatres and choirs as well as a European song contest are planned. What is more, each group from your school will be encouraged to perform on stage – singing, dancing, playing, musical instruments etc.
There will be a opportunity to participate in ecumenical service held in the intention of Europe. The meeting will be finished with students’ orchestra, European parade and fair.
